The Marbella escrow lawyer’s documented role

The evidence folder contains a dedicated set of emails from Oscar Abeti. His email signature identified him as an Abogado, LLM and Solicitor of England & Wales at BCP International Law Firm, the trading name of Cuatro Puertos Abogados S.L.U.P., with registered office at Avenida Ricardo Soriano 12, Edificio Marqués de Salamanca 1º-1, 29601 Marbella, Spain (VAT B92153808). These are the professional details represented in the contemporaneous correspondence; they have not been independently re-verified for publication.

Abeti circulated the draft Escrow Agreement on 20 October 2025, copying Balkan. On 23 October he expressly confirmed that the escrow payment had been received into “our escrow account.” He then corresponded on the 30% and 70% invoices and the change to hard-copy delivery. The 14 November Marbella notarial record identifies him as the lawyer involved in the physical handover and records that he delivered the original guarantee to Alistair McPherson.

His involvement should therefore be part of any complete account of the transaction. It does not, without further evidence, establish that he knew any SWIFT evidence was false. It does mean that his firm’s native emails, client-account ledger, release instructions, bank records, due-diligence material and communications with Balkan are potentially important evidence.
